In the fermentation engineering course, the curriculum of the lesson is organized so that you can understand all the basics of biotechnology. In the second half of the second year, you will be assigned to the biotechnology program (fermentation engineering course). We also accept transfers from the 3rd year. In the 4th year, you will belong to your desired laboratory (Biotechnology Program, Graduate School of Integrated Life Sciences), receive research guidance in a specialized field for a year, and write a graduation thesis. Using the most advanced genetic engineering technology, each laboratory conducts research in a variety of fields, from basic research on the mechanism of life to environmental biotechnology and biomass energy. In addition, the faculty members of each laboratory preside over research projects related to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of the Environment, contribute to the development of bioscience and biotechnology, and conduct a wide range of academic activities both in Japan and abroad. Achievements and levels have been highly evaluated internationally.
